Bare Essentials

My new project got up and running today and I would be very grateful if you would go and watch the pilot episode. Bare Essentials is exactly what it says I will be giving basic information on various subjects while wearing as little as I can get away with on youtube. I got this idea following a BGAFD post from elliott 1

- i really enjoy the stuff from the u.s site nakednews.com and wondered if there was anything similar here in the uk or if anybody had considered doing a british version? its a very simple, actually very tame format but in these days of constant bad and depressing news stories the thought of the likes of maise dee, shay hendrix, jessica pressley and all the other fantastic british girls out there bringing us the latest news in the buff would certainly brighten things up!

So for now I will be doing a brief review of UK topical news which will air every Friday. Please be kind when watching this, I know the light prevents you from reading the postet notes and I do stumble over a few words but I promise to fix this for next week.

Please leave nice comments on you tube and lots of thumbs up would be great.

  1. Just watched the vid. Well done. More professional than you're giving yourself credit for.
What source are you using to read the news? BBC? Just curious.
You may want to know - there is background noise throughout the video, reminiscent of someone using an electric pencil sharpener (not a criticism - just a heads up).
Something I want to know - the removal of post-it notes, purpose? Symbolising the end of the current item/new story? Or just further reduction of "clothing"? Again, just curious.
    Hope all is well.

  2. The post-it notes are to serve both as an extra layer of clothing to remove, as I think it helpt to keep the interest, and they will also have an image and or caption, to represent each news story. These will eventualy form a wall of news behind me, I didnt realise till after filming that you couldnt read them so I got a thicker pen today (or at least 'borrowed' one from the office I work at on Saturdays)so it should start to make a bit more sence from next week.

The content comes from a number of main stream sources of which the BBC news is definatly vital but I am also looking at other major channels news reports for balance (and giggles in the case of Fox news)and political blogs and related programs like the dailey politics show and parliment live. I am hoping to reliy less and less on generic head lines as I get used to researching so I can better select what I think people should know rather than simpl parrotting what other people have deemed the most news worthy but lets learn to sit up before we shuffle off and walk. xx

Thank you so much for taking the time to review it fore, I'm always looking for constructive critisisum (although blaitent flattery is also welcomed. I shot the piolet using the cameras inbuilt mike, i'll use an external one in future which should sort out the noise. xx

  3. Borrowing is fun. I borrow things out of other people's cars all the time. ((jke) to call that a joke is also a joke)

I like the idea of building a news wall - creative.

Haha good, as long as I don't have to listen to the Daily Mail. I'll continue to listen/watch/ogle.

Flattery - You are/were incredible, have a Peabody (Award).

Complete Unrelated - I remember Satine Spark previously mentioning that you both had a (partnered) site coming out/online. Is this her agency site? Or is there another in the pipeline. I was under the impression that it was a "naughty" site (not an agency).
